Latinas  UNIDAS
Minutes for the Meeting of Wednesday, March 30, 2011
A meeting of the ASC Latinas UNIDAS took place Wednesday, March 30 at 8:00 p.m. in Alston 304. The meeting was led by Co-Presidents Noelia Sandoval and Lissette Rodriguez
The meeting began with a welcome back from Spring Break.Then, thanks was extended to all members who assisted with the Girl Scout Registration Event held March 26 where L.U helped create beautiful paper flowers with Girl Scouts from all over the Atlanta area.
The meeting progressed with an announcement by COSMO Chair Sofia Barrera. Barrera announced Agnes Scott's annual Unity Banquet, an affair dedicated to the appreciation for all faculty and staff of ASC, and the need for volunteers. Unity Banquet was held April 3 in Upper Evans. L.U contributed volunteers to set up, serve food and greet guests. L.U. also contributed food from Papi's Cuban Sandwiches for the event.
The meeting ended with a discussion of Cesar Chavez, a pioneer for the rights of migrant workers and labor unions. Chavez's birthday is a National holiday celebrated on March 31.
